Cold and flu never left me. Accumulated exhaustion and the weather changes made it stay with me, even for now. I had succesfully endured it throughout the week until last Friday. I was running slight fever on Friday, but with a headache worsening from morning to evening. My sister had stomach pain in the morning. Her pain was very bad. She went to the family doctor in the morning but the medicine did not ease the pain. So she went for the 2nd time in the afternoon. She was given an injection. Around 5 pm when my brother came back from class, he found her in severe pain still. So he brought her to hospital and informed me. I was feeling terrible with my headache and worrying about her. I was supposed to attend my last journalism skills class after work but I rushed down to the hospital straight after that.
When I reached there, she was already given 3 jabs by the A&E doctor and put in the Observation room to observe the effect of the treatment. Her pain did not ease in any amount until 2 hours. My brother and I were with her at the hospital all the while. My father came awhile after his work to look at her for a while but had to leave to finish some stuff at his office. So my bro and I stayed on with my sister. The doctor came to see her again around 10 and discharge her from hospital. We came back home around eleven. My sister took the medicine and went to sleep. The doctor had only asked her to avoid spicy foods and eat normally.
So on the next day Saturday, I cooked porridge, bought some, bottled Cai Xin and canned foods and went out to catch the Simpsons movie with jess, wl and jwen. After the movie, we went ikea with fiona. We had a hearty feast there and went to shop around after eating. It was fun shopping there because we all have alot of ideas about home furnishing and looking at some interesting ideas already available. When I got home, I then knew my sister had ate alot of stuff she should not have eaten. She ate bread, dranked fresh milk, ate a few oreo cookies and ate rice for dinner. She was still in pain but bothering her much. After midnight, she told me that it was very painful. So my bro asked her to eat her medicine again. She did not get any better after taking the medicine. I helped her apply the oil for stomach winds constantly. She did not turn on any fan. She had blankets over her and keeping her stomach warm. We waited to see if the medicine shows any effect on her but the pain level did not go down.
At 3 am she I suggest her to try vomit out since she did not pass out anything after eating so much. She vomited out only liquid but no semi-solids. However it did not get better. I was giddy and had headache. I told my brother to take over in taking care of her and I tried to get some sleep. I was awakened roughly half an hour later. I hear her vomit again and my brother was handling the vomiting. So i continued to try to sleep. Around another half an hour later my father woke me up to bring her go A&E again. Apparrently the medicine was not effective anymore. We took her to hospital around 6.30 am and this time she was given another 3 jabs, put on the drip with the painkiller medicine and went through also X ray on the chest and stomach. The jabs took some time to ease the pain but it did not go away. The prescribing doctor came to see her again and prescribed her gastric pain and pain killer medicine apart from the gastric medicine. After her being discharged, I brought her back by taxi. We headed for the taxi stand at the block of wards. There we saw our Da Gu running up the lift to wards. I asked "Shen me shi" - what's the matter? My Gu zhang has just passed away then. I was shocked. dunno wanna go up with her anot, my sister and I also sick. So we went home and told our father. He called my uncle to go help my Da Gu. I continued to prepare food stuff for my sister. She cannot eat normal foods that has yeast and hard to digest. Did the laundry and I did not get to sleep until 2pm. I slept until four hang the laundry onto the bamboo. I had went to sleep after putting the last load into the machine earlier ago.
Having slept so little and taking care of my sister, my stomach also grew round and big. LOL alot of winds because I did not sleep. Whole body also puffy and soft. I think it is water retention when I did not rest. I went to take MC this morning and staying home today. Monday MCs. I kind of keep taking MCs on Monday. Well I cannot help it since I cannot work with my headache, running nose, cough and drowsy state of mind. I have exprience that I would make mistakes in decisions especially during this stat of mind.

Critical Period.. Some thoughts and feedback
Coming these 2 weeks will be critically important in my work and my part-time study. I am going to take over a new role as a module lead and there is not much time to prepare. I can only believe in myself and try to ask as many questions as possible during the handover from another colleague. This promotion is going to be a nice marking in my resume. Hopefully this is not the last one that I will be going through in this company. There are many opportunities here. The new direction that the HCM is moving towards looks promising in terms of prospects and efficient resource management. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and look out for future changes. Hope the light will shine brightly ahead.
It has been 9 weeks since I had started my Advance Diploma in MDIS. Time flies real quickly. I still remember when I first attended the class and the lecturers opening up the cartons of course books for the class. Now, I am looking forward to the last lesson next week for each of the 3 modules, for exam tips. Studying is enjoyable if there is interest in the content. Of the 3 modules, Advertising and Strategic Planning Management, Print Media and Journalism, I supposedly like the Advertising best. However, the lecturer 's lessons provided outdated examples and being followed the course material very closely, it became comparatively uninteresting as compared the Print Media lessons.
On the other hand, the Print Media lecturer, who had been in the Printing Press for a very long period of time, has no difficulty starting the class with interesting stories. He is the light touch of the newspapers while the lecturer for Advertising gives the hard news. I have always enjoyed his class and it is really good to have him in between the 2 lecturers. He talks to us like having a conversation session. It is rather casual yet fulfilling the required teaching content. It is a pity that I have only one last lesson with him. Sighzz...
As for the 3 lecturers for journalism, he is the only one whole make his own effort to prepare Powerpoint slides. But these slides are extremely wordy and he would only allow us to copy from the projected slide show. He would not post up online. Therefore, we will get the notes if only we are present or ask from him during the break in the following lesson to jot them down. He is the most typical one that really teaches like a lecturer. He tries to ask us questions in the class. Whenever we answer, he will reply "I see.", then he ratters on with his own talking. Sometimes I wonder if he really listens and understands what we answer. He does not tell us if we have answered his questions correctly. Sometimes I find that the classmate answered completely out of point but there has not been any corrections so far from him. I really hope he would be this "open" when marking our assignments. Most of the time, he is like an English teacher. He keeps emphasize that we have to learn a new word each day and put into use. I know that is true but it is not everyone would be determined enough to do it everyday. I admit that I am one of the lazy ones.
Like all tests and exams, I can only gather all that I have and leave the rest to my state of mind that day. I usually would perform if I have analyzed the questions correctly. I can really write well but it depends on the context of examples, whether I have enough substantial arguments and support with the examples. I can only hope for the best. Fight on! I can do it!
(Have to repeat to myself now and then. Not that I am naggy. It is because I do not hold a strong faith in myself. I have no idea how far I can go. Therefore I am always testing my limits. Self-torturing eh?... no lah.. is actually self exploration.. I do not see my strengths strong enough to compete with people... So I want to know where I have the cutting edge over others.. to find pride in something that I can really do very well and satisfying...)

Stillness for 2 months at my blog
Had been a busy period.. at work, at study (assignments due) and last but not least sent off ns for Australia study. in 2 months i have gained alot, not in terms of life experiences but alot of tiny sized living organisms called virus. I was sick for the past week and before that was overstressed at work. In addition, having 3 days of night classes weekly is really tedious especially when you had a really busy day of work rushing. If the workload is still manageable or not so taxing, going to class was quite an enjoyment, listening to the experiences shared by lecturers. However, another pressing force came invisibly when the assignment deadline drew nearer, unexpectedly I also had new tasks in my work that had short deadlines. It came to me as quite a heavy pressure.

Luckily I do not just have work and study in my life. I have friends and family. My sister had given me the support most unexpectedly warm and sweet when she actually helped me with my laundry when I was sick. She would usually ask me why I never wash her.. meaning that I was supposed to get it done regularly.. but being sick and uncomfortable i was. My bro had actually thought of helping me get dinner when he came back from school.. eventually i did not ask him to get for me because i was going out to meet up ns and jwen they all for dinner. haha sick already still go out.
we went sushi tei. my 1st time eating. very memorable. It's a real pity that jessica wasn't there. our group sort of started with the 5 of us hanging out most of the time. then we go on pulling people to join us. It consisted of me, ns, jiwen, fiona and jess. 3 years since 2004, going to 4th year.. wonderful friendship that i would wan to keep for a lifetime.. this of course includes others like weiling, esther, marcus, leon, xy, sf, py, ken, ryan, alvi, jn, alex and some that we din get to contact for a long long time. I have lost my hp with all my numbers. This is my greatest grief. All my sec sch mate's contacts which i had just collected over these few months are lost also. I hope they call for another gathering at year end again. will post again soon. below are pics at sushi tei. I realise i dun have the pics with us in it. Had used ns de cam. haven got from him. he's not online today. hope he can send us before moving into his appartment with his room mates. The following are the treats that we had. yummy.
The backdrop there reminds me of solar eclipse. lolz.. cool... pls dun mind the character in the pic as i wanted to capture the background only.. din have time for editing... oppz..
